ABoUT
Sessions Arts creates joyful experiences for audiences and communities. Our work includes:
-
Producing high-quality events and community engagement projects.
-
Making acts and artworks for bookings and touring in the UK and beyond.
-
Delivering an all year-round programme of creative development and events in our home, in Lincolnshire.
By growing and inspiring audiences and creative people, we aim to make our place, and yours, a better place to live and visit, unlocking joy wherever we go!
We make stuff and we make stuff happen!

Our Story
Sessions Arts began in 2016 in the small rural town of Spilsby in East Lindsey, Lincolnshire, driven by the ethos that culture should not just be the preserve of bigger towns and cities.
Originally established to support the 'Spilsby Sessions House Project', we campaigned for Spilsby's dilapidated theatre (a Grade II listed former courthouse) to be saved and transformed. Spilsby Sessions House will now open in 2027 following a £6m captial works project which has been supported by Central Government, Historic England and East Lindsey District Council. Sessions Arts will be a resident company, based in the new cultural venue and creation centre when it opens.

With support from Arts Council England, UKSPF and East Lindsey District Council we have been able to grow Sessions Arts and develop its role and focus. Since 2019 we have delivered 5 Spilsby Light Nights, 3 Horncastle Horse Fairs, 5 Festive Fabuloso local mini-tours, 2 Lightwaves events (for Storytellers NPO); initiated 'All Rise' our creative development programme; developed 6 new acts and artworks; and we have also provided production services for local authorities and other organisations.

In 2025 our work included:
-
5 events delivered
-
21 bookings of work generated
-
15 locations activated
-
144 artists and creatives supported
-
16,100 audience members reached
-
22 workshops delivered
-
694 community participants engaged
-
1 co-commission produced
We continue to invest in developing the relationships and skills necessary for Sessions Arts to play a key role in the cultural ecology of East Lindsey and Lincolnshire, with the long-term aim of producing touring work in the UK and Europe, which has been proudly “made in Spilsby".

Who are we?
From finance to frolicking, Sessions Arts is a collective of people with the wide range of skills and experience required to achieve the shared mission of making stuff and making stuff happen! We collaborate on a project‑by‑project basis, bringing together brilliant freelancers and specialist companies, in whatever combination each project needs to make things happen well. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we are guided by a dedicated board of Directors who provide thoughtful oversight and help keep our work purposeful, sustainable, and community‑focused.
